Looking ahead: A survey of the Book of Revelation

One thing I have noticed throughout my ministry is the public’s fascination with the Book of Revelation. As we have given out Bible’s over the years we have observed time and time again that many folks gravitate to this mysterious book. What does it all mean? How should we understand it? What is the significance of it for us as 21st century Americans?

I am in the process of putting together a survey that will introduce John’s Revelation and provide a framework for understanding and applying this mysterious writing.

I invite all who are interested to contact us. Your input will be helpful to us as we consider scheduling. We can be contacted at tristatecommunitychurch@yahoo.com.

Our New Meeting Place

Meeting for worship in the living room of someone’s home may sound bazaar to many folks but in first century Christianity meeting in the home was commonplace.

In the world of church planting, meeting in the home for worship is often how new churches begin. When you drive up and down this nation’s streets and highways you will see thousands of churches. These fellowships did not begin in those large and fancy buildings that we often associate as the church. These fellowships began in barns, fields, schools, and homes.

On the last week of March, 2008, we began a Bible Study in our home. As I recall there were six of us on the first night—including my wife and I. By October, through God’s grace, this Bible Study developed into a worship service and the group had adopted a name—Tri-State Community Church. At this point we were still meeting in our home. By February it was time to find a meeting place because the group had outgrown our living room—not to mention the parking issues (I never looked out to see what went on out there!).

In preparation for this situation, we had been looking throughout the Tri-State Area for a suitable meeting place that could fit within our budget. As a group we called on the Lord to lead us and we are pleased to say He has answered our prayers.

On March 1, we began our first worship service at the Chester Municipal Building, 600 Indiana Ave., Chester, WV. God blessed us with His glorious presence and everything went extraordinarily smooth. Folks are excited and God is good.

God has been pleased to provide us with a worship space that is neither too big nor too small. Our prayer is that He will soon fill this room up. We pray that others may be brought in to our family and come to enjoy a relationship with their Creator through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen and Amen.

We invite you all to come and join us this Sunday, at 10:00 AM.
